Fort Edmonton Park: 1885 Street

Zombie Apocalypse Survival Tour

1885 Street of Fort Edmonton Park (called Fort Deadmonton for the purpose of this zombie apocalypse survival guide), is probably the best street of all to outfit yourself with defensive items, clothing, food, and other essentials.

In  one building alone you will find axes, guns, pickaxes, shovels, building material, wood stoves, tools, and more--a one-stop shop for shoring up the security of your Fort Deadmonton home and making sure that defensive weapons are available to keep it safe.

It is also a place to raise and keep livestock. There are already cows, horses, roosters, turkeys, pigs, and other animals that make their home on this street in the available barns and pens.

What's missing from this Fort Edmonton Park 1885 street overview?

A few spots are missing from this overview, which were left out due to space. They are:

Dominion Land Agency: If the park is currently secure, the Dominion Land Office (located beside and West of Kenneth McDonald House,) on 1885 Street, could offer a cozy little spot to reside, though you would need to bring something to sleep on. Also, if you're close by, and need something to defend yourself against zombies, there are a handful of items here that would work nicely: couple of axes, pickax, shovels, etc.

North West Mounted Police Outpost:: (Located between Kenneth McDonald House and Jasper House Hotel) With the massive windows that take up most of the front and back sections of wall, this isn't the place to make your home. It does provide heat and a place to warm up your food. Though the bed would best be relocated to another, safer building. Keep it as it was intended, as a guard house with a good view of the street in front and the field in back.

Byrnes Shoe Shop: (Located beside and West of Ross Brothers Hardware.) Nice, tiny little building with one tiny little window. Has a wood-burning stove and several tools that double as defensive weapons. Also, keep your shoes in shape--good shoes will be hard to come by.

Raymer's Jewellery Store: (Located between Ross Brothers Hardware and James McDonald's Carpentry Shop) Ground floor holds a wide-variety of "fancy" dishes and clocks, but not a lot to make use of here otherwise. Upstairs, where the only access is via stairs around the buildings back, could be a spot to hide out, but many other choices would be ahead of this one.

Bellerose School: (Located beside and East of James MacDonald's Carpentry Shop) Sparse building, but could work as a home. Wood burning stove provides heat and warm meals. However, there is only one entrance, which means possibly being stranded inside should zombies find your hiding spot. Small side-windows do provide other options of escape, but will leave you vulnerable as you climb through.

Bulletin Building: (Located beside and East of Ottewell Homestead.) As more survivors make their way to Fort Edmonton Park during the zombie apocalypse, you can utilize this building to put up notices for all to read. The Bulletin building also has a phone that ties into the park's internal communications network.

McDougall Methodist Church: (Located beside and East of Millinery and Harness Shop.) Best left as a house of prayer or for a night of singing and music with the foot powered organ. The weak door and large windows just aren't worth the time and resources needed to secure them.
